If you are not familiar with something called Camp Bestival you are probably not from the area in which it takes place on a yearly basis. What it is, is an award winning festival that takes and combines an all encompassing family type festival with an action packed camping holiday. It has a sister festival that is called Isle of Wight’s Bestival.
The first year that Camp Bestival came about it was awarded the “Best New Festival” at the UK Festival Awards and since then it has won “Best Family Festival” three times, one in 2009, one in 2010 and 2013.
The bestival ca be found set on the beautiful grounds of Luluworth Castle located on the Doreset dramatic Jurassic coastline of the UK. The camp bestival itself is just packed with all kinds of entertainment from some great music and wonderful cultural experiences, sideshow attractions and just tons of family fun.
There is an enormous kids area where the little ones can find a lot of exciting and fun things to do. There are a lot of different fun activities from soft play and circus skills to go carts and glitter. Plenty of fun for kids of all ages. There are also kids shows and performances located on the Castle Stage and also in the Big Top. There are a lot of daring antics at the Freesports Park as well as fairytale escapism in the Dingly Dell.
Camp Bestival always has a great musical line up as well which is curated by BBC Radio 1 where people have seen the likes of Madness & Blondie ans well as Chuck Berry play right alongside tons of young up and coming acts. The music can range anywhere from folk to jazz jungle and it is guaranteed that there will be something for everyone to enjoy listening to.
They also offer a wonderful arts program that includes some of the best in contemporary theatre, performance, discussions and the spoken word. There is plenty of entertainment and intellectual nourishment when it comes to the arts program for all ages. Then there is plenty of street eats and gourmet treats to enjoy and wonderful camping facilities that can be reserved.
