Honey is a wonderful as well as natural beauty product that people have been using for years for their dry and wrinkled skin. In fact Cleopatra was known to be a big fan of the milk and honey bathes because of how good honey would moisturize her skin. Honey is a great moisturizer that is thick and rich and helps to keep the moisture in so it helps your skin to keep it’s moisture so the skin will look a lot more supple. It’s also great for the skin because it includes antioxidants so it will also help to protect your skin from the harmful rays of the sun. It also is an anti-bacterial agent and anti-irritant. It will help to heal the skin as well. It is also good for those suffering from acne. One sample way of using honey is combining it with oatmeal and using it as an oatmeal honey mask.

It’s important that your skin be cleaned and exfoliated. Before you do any kind of moisturizing you really need to make sure that you gently clean you skin, dry it gently and remove all of the dead cells by exfoliating the skin. This is going to make it a lot easier for your skin to then receive the moisture from the moisturizer.

When you clean your skin you can should try using this mixture. Take ¼ cup of honey, ¼ cup of a gentle liquid soap and then ¼ cup of glycerin. You can then apply this mixture to your face with your fingers, with a sponge or a clean washcloth. After that you can then rinse with warm water.

To exfoliate your skin combine this mixture: 1 tablespoon of hone, 1 tablespoon of finely ground up almonds, 2 tablespoons of dry oatmeal and a little bit of lemon juice or some plain yogurt. Mix all of the ingredients good and then massage this scrub on your face. Then when you are done with that you should rinse it well with some warm water. Don’t use hot water it is going to just dry out your skin even more. Do this as often as needed.

After you have cleaned and hydrated your skin you can use a moisture mask which is going to add even more moisture back into your skin. You can use this mixture here as a good moisture mask. Take two tablespoons of hone and two teaspoons of milk and mix together. Apply this to your face and leave it on for 10 minutes. Again rinse it off with warm water.

Now you skin is all set for a good leave on moisturizer if you want to do so. Since you have dry skin it’s best to get a moisturize that has an oil base because it will help to keep the moisture in your skin. You can make your own by using any one of these oils:

  • Olive oil
  • Sweet almond oil
  • Jojoba oil

Just take a small amount no bigger than the size of a dime and rub the oil into our skin. If you don’t have too much oil your skin is going to look like it’s moisturized and not oily. If it looks oily then you used too much of the oil.
